In 2020, Toyota unveiled a collection of models called the Nightshade Editions. These models were designed to stand out with bold blacked-out exteriors and badges. With the 2023 model year soon upon us, several more vehicles are being added to this exclusive club. Toyota Venza Nightshade Edition

When Nightshades first arrived on the market, only the Highlander, Camry, and 4Runner had this trim. But for the 2023 model year, it’s now Venza's time to shine. Coming in the fall of 2022, the Venza Nightshade will trade in its color and chrome for a darker black look. But if you want some color, there are two other paint options called Ruby Red and Wind Chill Pearl.

Based on an XLE trim level, the Nightshade Edition will add an acrylic front grille and smoked chrome moldings. New York City drivers will find blacker mirrors and door handles on the sides. And underneath can be found black rocker panels. The roof rails will also be black if you opt to add them.

Outside of the various exterior black features, the Venza Nightshade will remain the same as the regular XLE trim. This model will still utilize a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and three electric motors. It will feature the same tech and safety features, such as a 12.3-inch display, radar cruise control, and automatic emergency braking.

Future Nightshade Models

Although the Venza will be the first to receive the Nightshade treatment, others are coming down the line. In the future, expect to see Nightshade Editions for the following models:

  • Avalon Hybrid
  • C-HR
  • Corolla
  • Corolla Hatchback
  • Prius
  • Sequoia
  • Tacoma
