Highlights of the Grand Highlander
With three distinct trims come three distinct trims powertrains for the Grand Highlander. The base powertrain is a turbocharged 265-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder with front- or all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The other two powertrains include a hybrid 2.5-liter 243 horsepower four-cylinder and two electric motors. And the other is the Hybrid Max powertrain which uses a turbocharged 362 horsepower 2.4-liter paired with an electric motor.
All models have a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and a seven-inch digital display gauge. The Limited and Platinum models receive an all-digital gauge display. Newark and Elizabeth shoppers will also find a wireless smartphone charging pad comes standard. Though customers can upgrade to an 11-speaker JBL stereo on Limited and Platinum models should they wish.
Along with plenty of tech, the Grand Highlander also comes equipped with a suite of advanced driver-aids. Standard features include blind-spot monitoring and automated emergency braking. Higher trims feature adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, and a road-sign recognition system.
