2023 Toyota Sequoia Overview

What's New for 2023?

Due to its redesign, there are many new changes worth mentioning. First off, this model now rides on the same underpinnings as the new Toyota Tundra. Toyota's crossover now comes exclusively as a hybrid and features a new interior and exterior look.

Interior & Exterior Features

The new Sequoia model will come with a large and spacious interior that will make this the perfect family vehicle. Third-row seating will come as standard equipment, allowing this model to carry up to eight occupants easily. Though if drivers wish, they can reduce that number so seven with second-row captain's chairs.

With six trim levels available, the Sequoia will offer many features. Both cloth and leather seats are available, as are varying levels of wood and chrome finishes in higher trims. Higher-level trims will also come with a premium audio system, heated and cooled second-row seats, and a panoramic sunroof.

Performance

Where other Toyota models typically come with multiple powertrains, the 2023 Sequoia will not. This model will have one option, a twin-turbo 3.4-liter V-6 engine and an electric motor powering each trim. With this hybrid engine, the Sequoia will produce 437 horsepower and 583 pounds of torque.

All models will come equipped with rear-wheel drive and a 10-speed automatic transmission, but four-wheel drive is optional. On the off-road-oriented TRD Pro model, all-wheel drive is standard.

As of now, the EPA hasn't yet released fuel-economy numbers for the new Sequoia model.

Technology & Safety

Inside and out, the new Sequoia redesign provides a more modern experience than it ever has before. In the base trim, the Capstone, New Your City drivers will find open-pore wood trims and sound-reducing front glass. This helps to create a more luxurious drive for you and your passengers.

Along with those changes are various others like a new larger 14.0-inch touchscreen. This central display comes standard on all but the base SR5, and it will use Toyota's latest infotainment software. This software will allow smartphone mirroring and other connectivity options, including a Wi-Fi hotspot and numerous music-streaming apps.
