The Grand Highlander features a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 265 horsepower. This powerful engine uses direct and port fuel injection technology. The eight- speed automatic transmission ensures smooth shifting and optimal performance.
Fuel efficiency remains impressive despite the Grand Highlander's size and power. Front-wheel drive models achieve up to 28 MPG highway. All-wheel drive versions still deliver competitive 27 MPG highway ratings. The 17.8-gallon fuel tank provides excellent driving range.
Interior & Exterior Design
The Grand Highlander measures 201.4 inches long and 78.3 inches wide. Its commanding 70.1-inch height provides excellent road visibility. The SUV rides on a 116.1-inch wheelbase for stable handling. Standard features include power heated side mirrors and LED headlights. Higher trims add fog lamps and power-folding mirrors. Available wheel options range from 18-inch to 20-inch aluminum designs.
Three rows of seating accommodate seven or eight passengers comfortably. The LE trim offers eight-passenger capacity with bench seating. Other trims feature seven-passenger layouts with second-row captain's chairs.
Interior materials vary by trim, from fabric to leather upholstery. Heated front seats come standard on XLE and above. Limited and Platinum trims add ventilated front seats. The Platinum even includes heated and ventilated second-row seats.
