What's New For 2025?
The new year brings heated and ventilated front seats as standard equipment across all trims of the 2025 Toyota Crown. Plus, there's a head-up display for the top-spec Platinum trim. But the biggest addition is the new Nightshade model. The Nightshade touts a darker style inside and out by swapping the car's chrome for bits for black accents.
Performance & Efficiency
There are two powertrain setups for the Toyota Crown. XLE and Limited models use a 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid system and three electric motors to produce 236 hp. Meanwhile, the top-spec Platinum model gets Toyota's Hybrid Max setup. The Hybrid Max pairs a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder with an electric motor for 340 horsepower.
As for its fuel economy, the EPA says the base powertrain gets around 42 mpg city and 41 mpg highway. However, the Hybrid Max dips with an estimated 29 mpg city and 32 mpg highway.
Technology
All Crown models come standard with heated eight-way power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and ambient interior lighting. A 12.3-inch touchscreen is also standard, and it uses Toyota's latest software interface to provide Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Additional niceties include a wireless smartphone charging pad, onboard Wi-Fi, and USB-C ports.
Safety
Every Crown model has a host of safety features. All models have automated emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlamps. But only the Platinum trim offers a surround-view camera system or an advanced parking system.
